The Beaulieu Warblers met for the their first session of 2011 this week. All were still buzzing from the fantastic performance they gave in the Christmas Concert last month. Plans are afoot to put on a Spring concert in April in Beaulieu. We will be singing a range fo songs from 'Is This The Way to Amarillo?', sections of Les Miserables and some Gospel Music. Some of James' regular voice students will also have an opportunity to perform solo items.

Have just returned from an inspiring day with Jane-Rebecca Marshall GLCM (Hons) LLCM (TD) ALCM where she demonstrated the similarities in vocal technique required whether you are singing classical music or belting out show-stoppers in the West End. She discussed how voices are built over time and brought along a sample of her students ranging from 12 to 21 years old so we could hear the results of voice coaching. It was great to be reminded that every voice is different and that the joy of singing is not limited to the singer but also to the listener. Simple vocal techniques make a huge difference to what the singer can do.
