I have been formally singing since the age of 7
in groups and as a soloist. I undertook vocal training during my late teens.
For many years I ignored the urge to sing and went off to work in a 'proper' job. At the age of 37, I developed a life-threatening cancer which made me review what was really important in my life. This was the trigger for me to return to my love of singing and to performing.
On stage I went on to perform principal roles in many shows including 'Singing in the Rain', 'Crazy for You', 'Cabaret', '42nd Street', Copacabana', 'Kiss Me Kate', 'Trial By Jury' and 'Corousel'. 10 years ago I began working with children and teenagers organising presentations and workshops involving singing, dance and drama. I still sing in concerts, reviews and cabarets for parties and functions and I set up and run 'The Beaulieu Warblers', a community choir in the New Forest. For Southampton Music Services I am involved in leading 'Everyone Sing!'workshops for children and the elderly.
Through participating with others in this way, I realised that the desire to connect and communicate with others through singing is a fundamental part of what it is to be human; a fundamental part we ignore at our peril!
It is now my mission to help others on an individual basis to find and develop their vocal skills so that they feel free to sing and speak with skill and confidence.
As a singing teacher I trained with Gillyanne Kayes and Jeremy Fisher of Vocal Process (www.vocalprocess.co.uk), and work with children and adults in variety of styles from pop, folk, Country and Western, blues and musical theatre. I am a member of the Association Of Teachers of Singing.

- All sessions are recorded so that you can practise between lessons.
- Regular clients are eligible to sing with my choir to gain additional musical skills.

- Performance coaching is a part of the learning.
- Performance opportunities are arranged if required.
- I attend performances when possible to give guidance and feedback.
